Dr Katie Bull
MSN, EdD, RN

Dr Katie Bull, MSN, EdD, RN is a nurse educator, global speaker on evidence-based practice, published author, and founder of The Bullish Nurse.

Katie enjoyed bedside nursing for several years but struggled to balance family and work with young children and an active-duty husband. She transitioned to nursing education in pursuit of “normal” working hours, taking a significant pay cut.

In attempts to close the financial gap over a span of 10 years, she climbed the leadership ladder, held multiple part time positions, and eventually moved into clinical research and management roles in the medical device industry.

Her journey provided a unique glimpse into vast opportunities beyond bedside nursing. Toxicity, burnout, and shift-work should never be accepted as “just part of the job”. Nor should nurses choose between mental health and financial stability.

Using her leadership experience reading countless resumes and interviewing hundreds of nurses and clinicians for non-traditional and remote roles, she founded The Bullish Nurse in 2023 with the goal of educating, support and guiding nurses seeking non-traditional roles using the expertise they already have. She has helped thousands of nurses in understanding the opportunities and harnessing their experiences to regain satisfaction in their careers, and ultimately, their lives.
