Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the process, its history, and its current availability in the U.S. The course will also equip nurses with the knowledge to discuss this option with patients and their families, fostering meaningful conversations about end-of-life care choices.

Holly Sutton, Managing Funeral Director

Holly is a co-founder and the Managing Funeral Director at Gentle Water Cremation. As the Managing Funeral Director, she oversees all funeral home and water cremation operations. In addition to the operational responsibilities, Holly cares for families when they experience a loss or wish to pre-arrange their water cremation in advance. She also performs all water cremations at Gentle Water’s Mangonia Park, West Palm Beach facility.

Holly is a funeral director and embalmer with active licenses in Florida and Georgia. Her career in the funeral profession began in 2010 after earning a Mortuary Science degree from Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service in Atlanta, GA. In addition, she holds an associate’s degree in psychology from St. Johns River State College.

Holly built a strong foundation of skills working for independent and corporate establishments in Georgia, Oregon, and Florida, taking on increasing responsibility and expanding her knowledge of the death care profession. Her interest in death care alternatives and water cremation began while working in Oregon and became a reality when she was asked to help create Gentle Water Cremation.

As a Florida native, Holly takes pride in educating people about the many benefits of water cremation and in offering an additional choice in end-of-life care. Holly lives with her wife Malory and their three dogs, Doodle, Sprout, and Hippo, in Boca Raton. When she isn’t at the funeral home, you can catch her hanging out with her family, doing an outdoor project, or cooling off by the pool.
